Four Glory

Jesmond 6 Hodgy Blinkas 2 17/03/03

With both Crabtree and Hind absent the captains armband was this week passed to IJLW Brazil stopper Churchley. Worryingly the stand-in skipper had to contend with the late arrival of Barry and the Lynams kicked off with just four men against a dangerous side.
Barry eventually surfaced some 12 minutes into the game at which point the lynams were hanging on to a 1-0 lead through a combination of resolute defending and good football. With parity of numbers restored goals began to fly in and the Lynams technical superiority began to tell. Toye helped himself to four goals and Gooding and Neil helped themselves to one a piece. To those watching it was certainly a demonstration in the art of 5-a-side play complaining sound defending with tactical nouse and flair. What was glaring obvious to the onlookers however was the loss of Crabtree which would have surely made for an easier win :-)

Team : Churchley, Toye, Gooding, Neil, Dobson
Scorers : Toye 4, Gooding 1, Neil 1

Disappointed: The crowd had come for a glimpse of crabtree.
